Questions

The police questioned me today, for some reason. One of them let slip that someone had told them I might have pushed Frank. I don’t know how anyone could think such a thing. They said they were just following up and that I was clearly innocent. After all, why would I push my friend and neighbor? Some good might come of this, I suppose. Kathy will be spending more time with me, and I can devote more of my time to making her smile again. “Nevertheless let everyone of you in particular so love his wife even as himself.” Ephesians 5:23

And I do love Kathy that much and more. She is truly the sunshine of my life!

Horrible!

Frank was killed today. We should have seen it coming, what with all those accidents. I blame myself for not taking action. His ankle was still painful, and I’m sure that was part of the trouble. He never had a chance, falling out into the street like that, right in front of a car. It hit him head-on. I was too far from him to help, though I did make a grab for him. Kathy is inconsolable. She won’t even look at me. I’m sure that will change, though, because of our great love. “But now faith, hope, love, abide these three; but the greatest of these is love.” I Corinthians 13:13

People Who Need People

Kathy is very solicitous of Frank today. She’s spent the afternoon at his place, but I don’t mind. I know she’s helping out, as she always does when someone needs her.

Another Accident!

I’m worried about Frank. He’s obviously becoming accident prone. Today he stepped in a gopher hole and twisted his ankle. He’s lucky he didn’t break his leg. Kathy says there are no gophers here, but there must be what else could have made that hole? Maybe Kathy was making a joke. She’s always so sunny and cheerful.

Electricity Can Be Dangerous

Kathy’s smile is like when a light comes on in a dark room. “When you’re smiling, the whole world smiles with you.” I don’t know if Louis Armstrong wrote those lyrics, but they describe Kathy.

She smiled at Frank today when he came to help me change out a circuit breaker. She was so grateful for the help. So was I, though because of some mix-up Frank turned on the current at the wrong time. He would have been electrocuted. Had he not taken the precaution of using a grounded screwdriver, he might have been seriously hurt. I didn’t even know there was such a thing as a grounded screwdriver, but I do know that Frank should be more careful. Kathy was quite shaken when I told her.

More Shopping

Frank has been picking out new furniture every evening this week. Kathy has been going with him to help. She has a way of charming the sales personnel and making the transactions easier. I know Frank appreciates her help, just as I appreciate everything she does for me.

Shopping

Kathy is shopping with Frank this afternoon. He asked for her help in buying some tasteful new curtains for his bedroom. She’s always glad to help out a friend, especially Frank, which is just one of the things that makes her so wonderful.

Forgiveness

Frank asked me to come over this morning and help him out with a project. He was using table saw, and there was almost a terrible accident. If he hadn’t had such good reflexes, I think he might have lost a hand and maybe even bled to death! Of course I apologized profusely. Frank was very forgiving. “Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, ‘Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother when he sins against me? Up to seven times?’ Jesus answered, ‘I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times.’” Matthew 18:21-22

Charity

A man asked me for spare change outside the supermarket today, then spit on the ground near my foot. I gave him a $5 bill. As I’ve mentioned, Kathy’s love inspires kindness in me. “Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.” Matthew 25:40

Frank

Frank Dorman is our next-door neighbor. He’s been helping Kathy with some little projects around the house. He’s very handy with tools. I’m not good at that kind of thing, so it’s nice to have someone like him living nearby. Kathy is wonderful at keeping the house in spotless condition and making improvements. She lights up my life!

Comments

I’ve been reading the comments, but I have nothing to say about them except blessings on you, Anonymous. My love for Kathy inspires me to love everyone. “A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger.” Proverbs 15:1.
